Event Description:
NEW INTERGENERATIONAL NATURE TRAIL DEBUTS AT EMRICSON PARK! A Certified Forest Therapy guide from Morton Arboretum will offer small group tours 8:00–8:45am for Adults ages 50+ 9:00–9:45am geared towards ages 12-22 Experience the woods through reserved tours for Shinrin Yoku, the Japanese Forest Therapy technique (also known as “forest bathing”). The walks will feature insights into the Japanese culture and will end with a brief tea ceremony as a tribute to the woods just visited. Shinrin Yoku tours are centered around sensory immersion and solitude so respect for the required reservation process is essential. These FREE tours are limited to 15 walkers each and must be reserved no later than Friday, September 23rd by contacting Terry at twillcockson@woodstockil.gov Everyone is welcome at 10:00am for a public reception with entertainment & refreshments! This program is in partnership with The Land Conservancy of McHenry County, this new amenity was made possible by an AARP Community Challenge Grant.
