McHenry County Department of Health (MCDH) is providing a no cost residential electronics collection and recycling event for County residents.
The following event restrictions apply:
- Only electronics from McHenry County residential sources will be accepted.
- Each participant is limited to ten (10) residential electronics (televisions, computers, VCR's, video game consoles, printers, etc.)
- Participants must bring proof of McHenry County residency such as a valid driver's license, State of Illinois ID card or a copy of your current tax bill.
Appliances or devices containing refrigerant, liquids or chemicals cannot be accepted. Also not acceptable are batteries; smoke/carbon monoxide detectors; thermostats, thermometers or similar mercury containg devices; light bulbs ballasts containing PCB's or devices/equipment contaminated with food waste, biological waste or sewage.
Businesses, commercial entities or non-county residents are not eligible to participate. No other types of recyclable materials or waste will be collected at this event.
This electronics collection event is made possible by Elgin Recycling and the McHenry County Department of Health.
